David Rustebakke,
Large and Small Animal D.V.M. Dave was raised on a wheat and cattle ranch near Scobey, Montana. His ranching background led him to a career in Veterinary Medicine. He graduated from Washington State University with a DVM Degree in 1972. Following graduation he served his country as a Veterinarian in the US Army Veterinary Corps till 1976 when he and his new wife, Karen, moved to Morgan Hill, CA. He worked as associate Veterinarian in a progressive large animal predominantly equine practice till August of 1979, when he decided this Montana farm boy was not suited to be a Californian. He moved back to the Northwest where he became an associate Veterinarian in a mixed primarily large animal practice in Lewiston, Idaho where he practiced till 2000. He then took an 18 month hiatus from private practice to join a research group in Moscow, Idaho working on issues related to Equine Reproduction. Among other things, while there he was on the team that produced the first Equine Clones at the University of Idaho. In mid 2001 he re-entered private practice in Clarkston, Washington, starting Rustebakke Veterinary Service out of a mobile unit and a small rented barn. The practice grew, and in November of 2009 he moved his practice with two other Veterinarians and several office personnel and technicians into a new 8000 square foot state of the art facility on 15th Street in Clarkston. We feel honored and blessed to be able to serve our community doing what we love to do! |
